Chuck is lost in a daydream at the Nerd Herd desk. Listening to an old mix tape, he thinks back wistfully to his old girlfriend Jill Roberts, the love of his freshman year at Stanford.
But the memory becomes bittersweet as he recalls that she dumped him after he was wrongfully accused of cheating and expelled from the school.
The pain returns as he remembers the aftermath and the day he went AWOL on his Buy More lunch break to try to win her back.
He drove straight from Burbank to Stanford only to learn that she was now dating Bryce Larkin, the roommate who framed him in the cheating scandal.
Still rhapsodizing about Jill, even though she broke his heart and slept with his ex-friend, Chuck is interrupted by his Assistant Manager Emmett Milbarge, who sends Chuck on an offsite support call.
